Hello. I am George Martin, and I again welcome you to selected sermons of Monsignor Joseph Bernard McAllister, this being disc number 12 and our last disc in this series. While most of these sermons are over twenty years old, I have yet to find one that would not apply to the present age. Such are the teachings of Christ by his Church over the centuries, and proclaimed again by this loyal disciple in his Church. As we bring to a close this series of 12 CDs, I would encourage you to listen to the series of Monsignor's sermons as produced by my friend, Bob Tolton.
Bob grew up in our parish and also views these recordings as a treasure worth saving and sharing. But Bob took our efforts to the next level by taking all of my tapes of acceptable sound quality, that was eight eighty tapes, and transfer them to 163 CDs. He uses them in his work for the Archdiocese of Atlanta, Georgia, as well as supplying CDs to the penal system of Georgia. As we conclude our efforts here, it is my hope that you will continue listening to and circulating this collection of CDs.
The sermons themselves will not provide a course on what the Catholic Church teaches, but hopefully they encourage those seeking a greater understanding of the Church to pursue more study. While Monsignor was obviously speaking primarily for the benefit of the Catholic community, it is our hope that with your help, they will also reach those not presently practicing their faith, and non Catholics as well. Finally, special thanks to my son John. Not only has he provided the audio editing and CD production, but he has also provided the photos and artwork for the labels. This time consuming project has taken him many times late into the night and must have been a task that neither he nor his family could have imagined when we started this venture.
