Perfectly consistent and logical. Even an atheist, to admit that. He may say it's all about hogwash, but the thing is, he got to admit it's sensible on the premises that there is a God. And so we come back. If there isn't there is no one who has accused Saint Paul of downgrading the dignity of a human being, male or female, slave or free, old or young.
Notice how he advises fathers not to anger their sons. I love that. Any son will agree to that. I they ought to know that and put it on their father's door or something, you know, because a lot of fathers forget that. But it's so human.
But you just take Saint Paul and take his words literally and put them into your home and do it all for the sake of Jesus Christ, and you'll see what kind of a home you have. It won't be a home of a bunch of submissive slaves, of people going around bowing their heads, Oh, yes, yes, of course, anything you want, dear. It won't be that kind of a your whole booming thing of society is not gonna be one iota bet better than that basic unit of the family. There is no such thing as society. Remember that.
It's only what's made the reality comes down to the reality of the family, and the only reality of the family is the reality of individual human beings. Individual human beings. We come to it all the time. And if individual human beings have their minds woven and centered on God, everything falls into place. Just like my dear friend CS Lewis said, if the spokes of the bicycle wheel are lined up with a hub, they'll be lined up with one another.
If your life is lined up with god, it'll be lined up with everything else. In the name of the father, and the son, and the spirit. Amen.
